The Harvest, Pontoise puzzle is made using a historical and world-famous painting. High-quality wooden puzzle with detailed and vivid artwork reproduction is sure to be lots of fun. The subject of potato gathering repeats in Pissarro’s oeuvre in various media — pencil, gouache, oil, and prints — over a time of thirty years. The craftsman is getting a subject from the incomparable Barbizon painter Camille Corot, while expecting the more staccato, broken brushwork of later specialists like Georges Seurat. In the Lehman Collection painting, Pissarro’s treatment of reapers in Pontoise is painstakingly organized, while staying expressive in tone and brushwork.
