Edgar Degas

Edgar Degas was a French-born painter, his full name was Hilaire-Germain-Edgar De Gas. Degas was born on the 19th of July 1834 and he died on the 27th of September 1917. He was Impressionist and he is remembered for his pastel and oil paintings. He wasn’t limited only to painting, he also made bronze sculptures and also prints. The interesting part about his work was that he used to paint dancers, most of his works illustrate people dancing. Edgar Degas is known as one of the founders of Impressionism, he didn’t like the term Impressionism, he preferred that he be called a realist. Another interesting fact about Degas is that he only painted indoors.
